“The library is so much more than a library these days. Librarians teach the child how to reserach for projects, how to navigate technology, etc. It isn't just a reading period. OASIS is a wonderful program, but the students need a certified and trained educator to teach them. I would not want a volunteer trying to teach my child. I would welcome a volunteer to help as a supplemental support.”

“Wow! How cool. I think it's great they started a little co-op store in the mall too. If I were to recommend a ‘flavor,’ what about something with banana in it? I think with the right fragrant accompaniment it could be really nice and refreshing.”

“Why not lengthen the yellow warning time at all intersections? Why not lengthen the time between red for one direction and green for the other? 
That makes more sense to me than setting up Big Brother.
 I've had an accident at the photo-enforced intersection at Astra Way and Highway 141. I never even saw the yellow light it changed so quickly!
 The photo-enforcement didn't keep me safer! I think it caused the accident!”

“While a worthwhile initiative, all the cities in West County would benefit more by agreeing not to steal each other's big box stores. Regardless of what developers want, the chaos created and tax revenue problems from these stores moving every 10 to 20 years is detrimental to the Great Streets Initiative and other beautification efforts. The money just dries up for the losing city, leaving ‘ghost’ facilities that may never be filled.”

“Every year, I begin by helping the children create homemade Valentine's to give to their friends. We were able to create some decorations for our home this year, since we were home a couple of days. This creating time is a wonderful experience for all of us to spend time together. This year, I am trying something new and making the children their own Valentine boxes.”

“I would go further and reduce the city administration payroll by 25 percent (either through layoffs or retirements). We all have to make some hard choices and I do NOT want to see any change in police or fire employees, which I consider to be the only legitimate expenditure of my tax dollars.”
