Wanted: Dancers, Dance Moms and Dance Teachers to Blog at Hazelwood Patch

If you are a dancer, a parent, a dance school owner or teacher or just have a love of dance, we want you to blog with us.

Have you ever seen Lifetime’s β€œDance Moms”? If so, you know that while the girls are very talented, their moms can sometimes be a bit dramatic, to say the least.

As a dance mom myself, I know that most of us are pretty reasonable people who genuinely care about our kids and want them to be happy. Like I always tell my daughter, as long as she’s happy, we’ll keep paying for her classes.

So far, she’s thrilled. And by the looks of her dance company, dance is a passion shared by people of all ages.

That’s why Hazelwood Patch is seeking people who are interested in sharing their thoughts on the art of dance. Whether you’re a dancer, a dance mom, a teacher or just someone who loves dance, your community wants to hear from you!

We are also looking for studio owners who want to share news about their dancers and their studios with the community.

Dance bloggers can post photos, event information and coverage, fundraiser information and even just their opinions on situations, events and dance in general.

If you have inside information on what goes on in Hazelwood-area dance schools, we want you to blog on Hazelwood Patch’s free Local Voices platform.

Get started right here.

What You Get Out of It

As a Local Voices blogger, you’ll have the ear of local residents, so you can keep the community posted on all of your recitals, fundraisers, news, events and more. You can post photos and videos, too.

We regularly feature our bloggers on our homepage, so your voice will be heard. And if writing isn’t your thing, Hazelwood Patch is also looking for dance photographers and videographers to send us images of the events, recitals and other dance functions in and around town.

If you’ve got a big announcement or an exciting post, we’re happy to feature it on the front page and help you promote it.

Dance teachers, studio owners and dancers can use their Local Voices blogs to recruit new dancers, ask the community to help with funding for trips or equipment or even to share news on individual dancers and their accomplishments.

You can even blog about local issues that aren’t directly related to dance, including things like law changes and other stories that relate to kids and families. It’s your blog, so you get to write what you want.

Student Bloggers Always Welcome

You don’t need any experience to get started, and it won’t cost you a thing, except a few moments of your time.

If you don’t think you’ll have time to keep up with a blog by yourself, remember that you can blog as a group or team. We’d also be happy to have blogs from individual students. Β

And if you're planning to go to college to pursue journalism, this is an ideal extracurricular activity and a great opportunity for you--and it will really enhance your college applications.Β

It’s All About You

This isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say when you want to say it. Do it on your schedule, whether that means you post multiple entries per day or a couple times a month.

While there's no pay involved, you'll get to put your valuable views on a site that is increasingly serving as a community hub.Β

If you'd like to chat about the opportunity to share your unique voice with our readers, let me know by emailing me at angela.atkinson@patch.com. If you're ready to get started now, you can get started here.
