Catholic Charities helps communities meet needs with 'Blessing Barrels' (newstribune.com) β Several Jefferson City parishes now host "Blessing Barrels," where residents can drop off food, hygiene items, clothing, and school supplies that stay in their own community. Catholic Charities hopes to expand the barrels across all 93 parishes in the Diocese of Jefferson City, giving locals an easy, visible way to support neighbors in need year-round.

From Jesse Hall to Jefferson City: How CLIP is opening doors for Mizzou students (missouri.edu) β Mizzou's Civic Leadership Internship Program is sending a growing number of students to Jefferson City for hands-on roles in Missouri government, building connections that can launch public service careers. The program has doubled participation, places students in legislative and nonprofit offices, and is currently accepting applications for Spring 2027 internships that could put you to work at the Capitol.

Special Olympics Missouri breaks ground on 'The Back Nine' (krcgtv.com) β Special Olympics Missouri has started building The Back Nine at its Training for Life Campus in Jefferson City, adding pickleball courts, ball fields, and new activity spaces. The $4.1 million project, expected to finish by fall 2027, aims to give local and statewide athletes with intellectual disabilities more ways to train, socialize, and build confidence close to home.
