
Cannon Design, an internationally recognized architectural,
engineering, interior design and planning firm, is pleased to announce that Don Lemonds of Kirkwood, MO, AIA, ACHA, LEED GA, has joined Cannon Design as Vice President. Bringing 35 years of experience to the firm in designing for healthcare, Lemonds will serve as healthcare planner for Cannon Design St. Louis and help to expand the healthcare practice throughout the Midwest and internationally.
Recognized for providing clients with innovative and efficient design solutions, Lemonds’ expertise includes master planning, space programming and functional planning for a variety of healthcare building typologies. He is experienced in various project roles, from serving as project manager and senior medical planner to principal-in-charge.
Prior to joining Cannon Design, Lemonds was a healthcare principal with HOK in St. Louis for 13 years, where he was responsible for practice management, business planning and development, marketing, recruiting and mentoring. Prior to HOK, Lemonds was Senior Medical Planner with IMGR, Inc. in Memphis, TN. The portfolio of work amassed throughout his career includes significant projects for such
clients as the University of Wisconsin Health, Wishard Health Services, Indiana University Health, Nebraska Medical Center, Carilion Clinic and the UAB Hospital.
Current assignments for Cannon Design include master planning and cost estimating services for a 450-bed, 700,000 sf replacement hospital for Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City; visioning study for Mount Sinai Medical Center, creating a new vision for its flagship campus in Miami Beach; and programming, comprehensive design and construction services for a new construction,
multi-million dollar, 355,000 sf bed tower for the University of Kansas Hospital.
Lemonds holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Tennessee.
