Kirkwood area Girl Scouts were at the local Schnucks last weekend participating in the Fall Product Program. The Daisy Girl Scouts engaged with customers as they left the store by speaking with them about the benefits of purchasing Fall Product. This troop in particular had plans to donate a portion of the proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House. Additional proceeds will also reward them with a movie night.
When asked about their strategy for selling Fall Product, Tori, a Daisy Girl Scout, explained that they were speaking with customers as they entered the store and asked for a purchase as they left.
“We’re selling sweets,” said Tori. “Some of us are holding up signs outside and the rest of us are standing inside with the product.”

Girl Scouts will continue to sell Fall Product at stores throughout eastern Missouri through December 9. Girls who participate in the Fall Product Program learn five skills necessary for leadership: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. In addition to those skills, girls will learn E-Business as they are able to sell product online that will ship directly to the customer or gift recipient.
Fall Products available this year include Peppermint Bark, Dulce de Leches, Peanut Butter Cups, Pecan Supremes and GORP Trail Mix. Prices range from $5 to $20. Customers can find a booth in their area by visiting: http://www.girlscoutsem.org/Programs/Cookies-Fall-Product/Fall-Product-B...
