PNC Foundation Grant Funds Early Childhood Programs at The Magic House

The Magic House and the PNC Foundation are teaming up to help young children get a great start in school.  The PNC Foundation awarded a $23,000 grant for the museum’s new PNC Grow Up Great Preschool Programs, early childhood learning experiences that will be offered free of charge to St. Louis preschools serving young children and
families in low-income neighborhoods.

PNC Grow Up Great will provide no-cost learning opportunities for young children, as well as for their parents, caregivers and teachers, during the 2012-2013 school year.  The grant to The Magic House will cover the costs of educational outreach programs, family nights and training for early childhood educators as part of the PNC Grow Up Great initiative, a multi-year, $350 million effort to help prepare young children for success in school and life.

“The Magic House is honored to join PNC in providing high-quality educational experiences for preschool children, their families and teachers,” said President Beth Fitzgerald. “Programs like these have a powerful impact on young children, and especially those who have limited opportunities.”
