Senator Eric Schmitt Re-elected to Senate Leadership, Will Serve as Caucus Chairman

State Senator Eric Schmitt (R-Glendale) was re-elected to a leadership role by his fellow Republicans in the Missouri Senate.  He will serve as the Majority Caucus Chairman.

“I am very pleased to be re-elected to Senate leadership.” Schmitt said. “This gives me a great opportunity to continue advocating with a strong voice for my constituents in St. Louis County.”

Senator Schmitt was first elected to the Senate in 2008 and won re-election on Tuesday as he ran unopposed.  His district includes all or parts of Ballwin, Chesterfield, Clarkson Valley, Des Peres, Ellisville, Fenton, Glendale, Kirkwood, Manchester, Sunset Hills, Twin Oaks, Valley Park, Wildwood, and Winchester.

In addition to his leadership role, Senator Schmitt serves as Chairman of the Jobs, Economic Development and Local Government Committee.

Senator Schmitt is a lifelong resident of St. Louis County.  He lives in Glendale with his wife, Jaime, and their three children, Stephen, Sophia and Olivia.
