STLCC to Conduct Information Session on Affordable Care Act

Advocacy groups, safety net providers, social workers, and representatives of community- and faith-based organizations will benefit from a special presentation by officials from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMMS) on the Affordable Care Act Wednesday, Oct. 3, at St. Louis Community College-Meramec.

This free program is slated 1-2:30 p.m. in Room 201 in the Student Center on campus, 11333 Big Bend Road.

CMMS staff will present an overview on this act, focusing on the consumer protections and the provisions that strengthen and expand the Medicare and Medicaid programs. They also will provide information about the health insurance exchanges and the resources available to assist partners in educating their clients about this law.
