Borrow E-Books from the Library!
Read an E-Book Week is celebrated from March 3-9. Check out e-books for free through Kirkwood Public Library's Overdrive service.
As we celebrate READ AN E-BOOK WEEK from March 3-9th of 2013, I would like to remind everyone of a great service Kirkwood Public Library and the other members of the Municipal Library Consortium have to offer called Overdrive. Through Overdrive you can check out e-books for free using your valid library card. Books are available in several formats for the Kindle, Nook, smartphones, tablets, and other e-reader devices. You can also download audio books. Check out the free Overdrive Media Console App on your store supported devices or come into the library for set up and demonstration of Overdrive. The best time to come is during Drop in IT on Tuesdays from 10am-12pm and Thursdays from 6pm-8pm. Check out the Overdrive website to learn more or see our catalog of downloadable electronic books to look at books that are available at the click of a button or the touch of a finger! Also starting March 13th the library will have a Kindle Fire available for request and check out. This will be a new edition to our growing family of e-readers.
Courtney Flesch is the Teen/IT assistant and is currently reading Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison on her Nook and listening to The Dubliners by James Joyce through Overdrive on her smartphone.
