Community Atmosphere is Charged with Economic Hope

In 1946 a group of Kirkwood businessmen under the leadership of David Jones Sr. and Richard Mueller Sr. founded the Kirkwood Chamber of Commerce.  Sixty-five years later the Kirkwood•Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce continues to focus on the success of the communities we serve.

The Kirkwood area is booming with development and a renewed effort between business, government and community has charged the atmosphere with hope and promise for a strong future.  In the past few months, more and more entrepreneurs have chosen to open for business in the area.  Downtown Kirkwood is growing with new and expanding businesses.  Fine boutiques offer the latest in women’s fashion.  Other shops present a wide range of intriguing gifts and collectables.   Just walking the streets of the downtown business district will help discover an exciting shopping experience.  Also enjoy two hours of free parking at one of our easy to find parking lots. 

 Shopping continues at West County Mall with a wide variety of products and services to meet every need. The new redevelopment area along Manchester Rd. in Des Peres includes expanded shopping opportunities.

  The Kirkwood area also offers a variety of dining choices.  From fast food to elegant dining our restaurants excel in quality and service.  Just visit any of our member restaurants along Manchester or Kirkwood Roads - or anywhere in between.  

Each of these new area businesses join the over 650 long standing members of the Kirkwood•Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce in serving consumers from the entire metropolitan St. Louis area.  After 67 years of service we welcome everyone to make the most of what our member businesses have to offer.
