Free Resource for Job Seekers

Use a free online resource at your library to help you get a job!

Each week Kirkwood Patch posts a list of who’s hiring in the area. If you’re looking for a job (whether full-time or part-time), your Kirkwood Public Library has an easy to use, free resource to help your resume stand out from the crowd. Visit OptimalResume through the library’s web site to create a free account and get started. Online you’ll find sample resumes, cover letters, interview tips and skill assessments.  Logon and take free webinars from the comfort of your home. You can create your resume using Resume Builder and receive feedback through online networking.  Need to create a web site? Use their web site builder. Follow the OptimalResume Blog for creative tips when it comes to searching for that great job.

Pop into the library and browse through our extensive print collection on job seeking and resumes or request items from home using your library card. We’ll pull them and have them waiting for you!

Sarah Erwin is the Library Director at Kirkwood Public Library and is currently reading Make your Brain Smarter: Increase Your Brain's Creativity, Energy, and Focus by Sandra Bond Chapman with Shelly Kirkland.
