The Magic House Has Joined the Kirkwood Patch Blog World!

Hi Kirkwood Patch readers! My name is Carrie and I am the newest full-time staff member at The Magic House.

We were recently approached with the suggestion to create a blog on the Kirkwood Patch - being big fans of The Patch we couldn't pass up this opportunity.  But the question became, what would we write about? After tossing out several ideas I decided to take my hand and share some things that I thought the Patch readers might find of interest.

My blogs will include a heads up on some of the fun events and exhibits we have coming to The Magic House, a little personal experience of my family's visits and a sneak peek behind the scenes of The Magic House! Feel free to share your feedback and let me know what you want to hear about The Magic House. 

To start off, here is a pic of my son and me from this past weekend at The Magic House during Big Truck Day, an annual event where we bring in everything from a dump truck and a mini-excavator to a fire truck. Families stay for lunch and get to spend the day at The Magic House.

My son may only be 20 months but he is already a big truck fan. And as a young mom I am already learning how important it is to provide children with opportunities to explore and expand their interests. As we drive down the highway my son will point out every truck we pass, so nothing could compare to being able to see these trucks up close and in person. He ran from truck to truck, eyes wide in amazement. I can't wait to take him back next year and see him climb into each truck as he pretends to drive!
