Coldwell Banker Gundaker’s Des Peres/Kirkwood Office Adopts Local Veterans for the Holidays

ST.LOUIS (December 14, 2016) – Coldwell Banker Gundaker’s Des Peres/Kirkwood office adopted eight residents of the St. Louis Veterans’ Home in North County for the holidays. The office fulfilled gifts from their Christmas wish lists, delivering them to each vet following a holiday party hosted by Military Relocation Professionals (MRP) on December 7.

For more than three years, the sales associates and staff of the Des Peres/Kirkwood office have been connecting with groups of the veterans from the more than 300 men and women who live at the Veterans’ Home. Many of the residents don’t have family or friends nearby. Many also have disabilities and appreciate simple gifts and items they are unable to go out and purchase.

Kathy Leipholtz, independent sales associate first suggested building a relationship with the veterans to her Des Peres office. Leipholtz holds the Military Relocation Professional designation (MRP) and belongs to the group by the same name where the idea to connect with the veterans first originated. The group adopts all 300 residents at the holidays and presents gifts to each of them.

“It’s so important to us to reach out to these veterans this special time of year,” says Leipholtz. “They appreciate our interest and efforts so much, and we both look forward to this annual event.”
