The youth at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kirkwood are raising money to send tolietries and treats to childern in Haiti through the Kanukuk Ministries.
The Kanakuk Haiti program provides children in the island nation with a solid education, Christian instruction and nutritional meals. The program operates 18 schools with an attendance of more than 5,000 students. Haiti has long been known as one of the poorest countries in the world. The people there continue to struggle after the devastating earthquake in 2010 that killed 220,000 and left a million homeless.
Free-will donations will be accepted and will be used to buy gifts and cover shipping costs.
