The Sky Club is proud to present Reed Timmer, Extreme Storm Chaser and Meteorologist, as our public speaker for spring 2013!
Reed Timmer is well-known as the most successful and extreme storm chaser in the world. Not only is Reed one of the few people in existence to document both an F5 tornado, and the most devastating hurricane in U.S. history (Hurricane Katrina), and is currently working on a PhD in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma.
As a star on Discovery Channelβs Storm Chasers in 2008, Reed became the first person in history to capture High Definition video inside a tornado.

The topic of Timmers' presentation will be his personal experiences as a storm chaser and the research he is conducting on tornado formation. His goal is to develop technology that will help increase tornado warning times and save lives.
The presentation will be held on Wednesday February 20, 2013 from 7-8:30PM in the St. Louis Community College Meramec campus theatre. There is an admission charge of $5.00 (cash only) and all proceeds will be donated to the Head Start Program of the YWCA β Metro Saint Louis.

Following the presentation will be an autograph signing where Timmers' book "Into the Storm: Violent Tornadoes, Killer Hurricanes, and Death Defying Adventures in Extreme Weather" will be for sale along with other materials.
