Fashion Friday: Nine Months in Style in Kirkwood

The boutique for moms-to-be has tons of great styles for fall.

The Fashion

If you're a pregnant woman in need of some cute clothes for work or play, in Kirkwood is the perfect place to shop.

For an essential fall item, the store has Lilac Maternity jeans ($110) that can be converted into regular jeans to wear after the pregnancy. The jeans look great with a pair of black heels and a white dot Lilac Maternity top ($70), or with a pair of brown boots and a navy Maternal America cowl-neck sweater ($94).

With Ingrid and Isabel's cropped black leggings ($46), a multi-colored patterned Noppies Maternity top ($94) is both fun and the perfect way to show off your baby bump.

The Facts

Nine Months in Style opened 11 years ago at 11243 Manchester Rd. in Kirkwood, and it has remained there ever since.

Owner Julie Hoffman's prior experience in managing two stores and her bachelor's degree in accounting from made her feel like she might be ready to start her own business.

Hoffman finally decided to open Nine Months in Style after some encouragement from her husband, and coming to the conclusion that there wasn't a store like this in the area.

"Maternity is so fashion forward now," Hoffman said. "A lot of women work and want cute, nice things - not just for the weekend either."

Hoffman specifically chose Kirkwood in part because she grew up there.

"Kirkwood is a good middle corridor," she said. "It's very family-oriented."

After Labor Day (on which the store will be closed), the store will have new hours. Instead of being open until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, they will now close at 5 p.m. Additionally, the store will now be open on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. The rest of the store's hours will remain the same.

More information about Nine Months in Style can be found on the store's website.
