To kick off a two-week long art exhibit, First Bank’s Webster Groves, Missouri branch (11 East Lockwood Avenue) will hold a “Meet the Artist Day” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 11 to introduce the pet-friendly works of local artist Sarah Nations. “We encourage First Bank customers and others in the community to come out and meet Sarah and see some of her amazing pet portraits and paintings,” said Jake Hobbs, First Bank Area Manager South. “It’s a great opportunity to see her works that really showcase her passion for our four-legged friends.” Both the “Meet the Artist Day” and the art exhibit are free and open to the public. The art exhibit can be viewed during regular branch hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fridays) from February 9 through February 20 in the branch lobby. Since moving to St. Louis in 2011, Nations has focused on painting pet portraits including a special series at The American Kennel Club’s Museum of the Dog in Queeny Park. Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Nations spent much of her childhood in Austin, Texas and graduated from Rice University in 2011. She has been painting commissioned pieces for more than 10 years. Samples of her work can be found at canvasmatch.com.
