Fontbonne Women's Softball Team Named Contest Winner As Part of Snotes Crowd Sourcing Efforts; Receives $3,000 donation

Snotes-Fleur de Lis Group in St. Louis, MO, awarded a $3,000 donation to the Fontbonne University women’s softball team as the winner of the Snotes,TM, fundraising contest. The Fontbonne effort, sponsored by Geri Glixman, recruited 105 donors who made investments in Snotes as part of the startups fundraising campaign on Indiegogo. The contest was open to all. Snotes, a new creative form of encrypted social messaging, recently completed a $50,000 fundraising campaign on Indiegogo for development of its new mobile app. Attending the check presentation were from left, Joe Bayer, Partner with Snotes-Fleur de Lis Group; Geri Glixman and Maria Eftink, Fontbonne’s Director of Athletics.

“It was an open competition with many individuals and non-profits competing for the top prize,” said Bayer. “Our goal was not to reward the largest donors but to recognize the group who had the largest number of participants no matter the size of their donation. The Fontbonne team really stepped up to the plate.”

“Donations like this go a long way in helping the Fontbonne softball team stay competitive on a national level,” said Eftink. “These funds help with equipment and travel enabling our women to play many of the best teams in the nation regardless of their location.”

The Fontbonne Softball team competes in Division III. It was ranked #21 in the nation in 2014.
