Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr - 1/19/15
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Monday, January 19, 2015, at 1pm, in the Keating Theater, at Kirkwood High School

The Meacham Park Neighborhood Improvement Association (MNIA) has partnered with the Kirkwood School District and created a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Musical Celebration to take place on Monday, January 19, 2015, at 1pm, in the Keating Theater at Kirkwood High School.
On the third Monday in January, Americans across the country will celebrate the national holiday honoring the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In light of all the division we see in the world today, this is a great opportunity for the Kirkwood Community to come together and celebrate the legacy of Dr. King and the unifying ideals he stood for.
During his lifetime, Dr. King sought to forge the common ground on which people from all walks of life could join together as equals to address important community issues. His strong leadership and unprecedented power of speech gave people the faith and courage to keep working peacefully towards improving our nation, and ultimately change the world. As the beneficiaries of Dr. King’s legacy we are obligated to make sure we never forget his lessons, his sacrifice, and his life.
