Kirkwood Pesticide Facility to Close; 51 Jobs Lost
Woodstream Corp., a manufacturer of pest controls and lawn and garden supplies, plans to shut down its Kirkwood facility in late June.
Woodstream Corp. will shutdown its Kirkwood plant in St. Louis County and layoff 51 workers in late June, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing posted online by the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The WARN Act requires employers to provide a 60-day notice in advance of covered mass layoffs.
Ceridian Corp. filed plans to layoff 200 workers at its Creve Coeur office in St. Louis County last week.

The Woodstream filing is the fifth mass layoff notice by employers this month across Missouri, affecting 795 workers.
Last month, employers filed nine layoff notices, affecting 2,429 employees.

Seven layoff notices were filed in February, affecting 614 jobs.
Only three layoff notices were filed in January, impacting 229.
