Kirkwood School District Seeks Millions in Funding For Renovation Projects

According to a recent report in the Webster-Kirkwood Times, the Kirkwood School Board is discussing whether the district should borrow funds from bonds expected to generate $5.2 million over the next 12 years.

The borrowed money would reportedly go toward completing three renovation projects worth $4.4 million within the next year, including the bleachers, restroom and press box at the football stadium, along with the journalism classroom and band rehearsal room at the high school.

The Webster-Kirkwood Times article explains that the district has been struggling with how to fund the projects and school board members discussed the proposal at a recent meeting. 

At least one board member does not support the idea, but enough backed the plan enough to explored the idea further. 

A resolution to borrow the money to fund the construction projects is expected to come before the board in August.
