
Murphy Company Promotes Mark Bengard to Senior Vice President of Sales and Pre-Construction
ST. LOUIS– Murphy Company has promoted Mark Bengard, PE, to the position of senior vice president of sales and pre-construction, effective immediately. “Mark has served in a leadership role at Murphy Company for many years and has earned the respect of our customers, vendor partners and team members,” said Murphy. “Whether it is owners, general contractors, architects or consulting engineering firms, Mark and his team have created and enhanced multiple relationships for our company and have been responsible for many of our major projects. I am delighted to ask Mark to step into this expanded role.”

Bengard joined Murphy Company in 1989 and continues to serve as senior vice-president, design-build in addition to taking on expanded duties. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, he is a certified professional engineer (PE) in California, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma and Florida.
He is a member of the American Society of heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), and is an NEBB certified member of the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB). He also is a member of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractor National Association (SMACNA), serving as president of the St. Louis chapter in 2011 and 2013. In 2007, he was named Engineer of the Year by the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers.

On Dec. 4, the DBIA-Mid-America region presented Bengard’s team with a 2013 Merit Award for its work on Schattdecor’s new plant in Maryland Heights, Mo. Last month, the AGC of St. Louis also honored Murphy Company as Top Mechanical Contractor for the second consecutive year.
