The Glendale Police Department, along with many other law enforcement agencies across the metropolitan area, partnered with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to host a collection site.  This was the sixth Prescription Drug Take Back Program sponsored by the DEA.  According to the DEA, in the previous five programs, over 1,018 tons of unused or expired prescription medication were collected and safely disposed of by the DEA.

The purpose of the Prescription Drug Take Back Program is to provide citizens the opportunity to turn in unused and/or expired prescription medications for safe disposal.
