5. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz – A collection of scary folk tales best for a campfire with great gruesome illustrations.

6. Dracula by Bram Stoker – The vampire that started it all.

7.Psycho by Robert Bloch – The book that inspired Hitchcock.

8. Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury – Beware a carnival that arrives  in October.

9. Great Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe by Edgar Allan Poe – Features some of the best creepy stories by Poe including “The Tell-Tale Heart”, “The Masque of the Red Death” and “The Cask of Amontillado”.
