It wasn't the heat that downed a softball player Sunday at the Kirkwood Athletic Association. It was her teammate. A player in a softball game during the Firecracker Bash softball tournament was hit in the knee by a fellow player on the St. Louis-area Nemesis team. The injured player was a runner on third base when she was accidently hit by a ball that came from a batter on her team. Kirkwood ambulance arrived to transport her to the hospital.
