The St. Louis Community College-Meramec Theatre will hold auditions for “The Two Sisters” by Dennis M. Corcoran at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, and Wednesday, Sept. 25, in Student Center 200/201 on campus, 11333 Big Bend Road.
The audition will consist of cold readings from the script, a dance audition and a short song performed a cappella. Those auditioning are asked to arrive dressed to move. Production dates are Nov. 20-24.
“The Two Sisters” takes place at Her Majesty’s (Women’s) Prison, Armagh, Northern Ireland at the height of “The Troubles” (1970’s and 80’s). Two communities at war with one another housed within its centuries-old walls. Can these two women, these “two sisters,” bridge generations of bigotry and hate, find humanity in each other and thereby clear a new path to peace? The work continues today, but its roots were planted here, inside these drab, grey-stone walls, within the heart of The Two Sisters.
