Support Breast Cancer Awareness and Sip on Summer with Hacienda's Pink-a-Rita
Susan G Komen Foundation Missouri , Breast Cancer Awarness

The 19th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in St. Louis will be held on Saturday, June 10. It's a great event that draws thousands of participants and spectators each year, in order to celebrate breast cancer survivors, remember those who lost their battle with breast cancer, and raise funds and awareness to combat the disease.
Almost everyone has a friend or family member who has battled breast cancer. For Hacienda Mexican Restaurant owner John Rodriguez, it was his soon-to-be mother-in-law, Laura Corirossi, who was recently diagnosed with the disease. After months of treatment, John, his fiance Julie, and all of their friends and family are excited to walk the Race for the Cure in order to celebrate Julie's mom's last treatment.
In order to show our support for the brave men and women facing this challenge, Hacienda has big plans to help with a cause near and dear to our hearts: breast cancer awareness. Through the entire month of June, for every Hacienda Special Pink-a-Rita we sell, the restaurant will donate $1 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation Missouri and the SSM Foundation designated to cancer care. This delicious margarita is made with silver tequila, triple sec, and pink lemonade – perfect for summer weather and for celebrating victories.

The family behind Hacienda Mexican Restaurant has always believed in giving back to the St. Louis community. Through our charitable organization, The Hacienda Foundation of St. Louis, we have raised tens of thousands of dollars for St. Louis charities and local chapters like Nurses for Newborns, BackStoppers St. Louis, and the Missouri Make-a-Wish Foundation. Our Monday “Margs for a Mission” fundraiser has been incredibly effective over the years, and we are proud to continue our efforts with the Pink-a-Rita.
Each year, more than 225,000 people in the United States, and approximately 4,500 people in Missouri, are diagnosed with breast cancer. Approximately one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and one in a hundred men. Add in all the friends, family, and loved ones affected by the diagnosis, and there is almost no one who will remain untouched by the effects of breast cancer.

Fortunately, the disease has a 97% cure rate when detected in its early stages. With the Pink-a-Rita, Hacienda and the Komen Foundation want to promote awareness of the disease and help provide live-saving access to early detection for uninsured and low-income St. Louisans.
