Big Story of the Week: Villa Golf Team Captures 2nd Place in State Meet

Frontenac school has dominated the local golf scene a number of years recently.

Editors note: Linda Potter has established a true winning tradition with Villa Duchesne golf. A couple of years ago, they were the state champs. This year, they finished runners up to Westminster Christian Academy. Congratulations to the Saints for another fine year on the links.

Villa Duchesne, always one of the strongest golf teams in the state of Missouri captured second place in this year’s championships at the Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield, MO.

Westminster captured the title with 669 points; second went to Villa with 721 points (low poinr total wins).

Morgan Gast paced the Saints with a two day total of 170; 87 and 83 in the two rounds of competition.

Emily Cataldi, Morgan Gast, and Grace Mower all figured in the top scoring.

Other local area results came from local schools: Abigail Schroeder, 163; : Logan Otter, Burroughs, 165; Drew Bolster, Burroughs, 177; and Darby Hobbs, MICDS 185.
