Bixby's Summer Menu Now Available

Summer is my favorite time of year. We have five kids so when they’re on summer break we go on vacation and see the sights. The Missouri History Museum is one of our favorite places to visit in St. Louis. I love taking my kids there because it’s interesting and free! Of course, I always treat the family to a great lunch at Bixby’s after the tour.

Bixby’s changes their menu seasonally; the restaurant just introduced their summer menu. I’m partial to the summer shrimp boil, a hearty soup with andouille, corn, potato, okra, and snipped scallion—just like they make it in the South. My wife, Elizabeth, can’t get enough of the citrus chipotle hummus. The hummus is served with chili oil, warm pita, carrot and crisp cucumber.

Some of our kids favorites include Bixby’s Midwest chuck burger, the giant (yes, it’s almost the size of my head) mound city pastrami Reuben, and the summer favorite—spinach & pea shoot salad. The refreshing salad is served with orange segments, strawberries, spiced walnuts, shaved red onion, Heritage cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.
