HIgh School Women's Athletics
The difference maker for female athletes starts in the weight room.

Since Title 9 women's athletics has blown up! So many opportunities to play field hockey, lacrosse, baskeball, softball and soccer in college. But in this new era of women's sports, what is the difference maker between a good, solid high school player and a great, division 1 prospect?
If two athletes are alike in athletic prowness, agressiveness, desire and work ethic the athlete who has dedicated themselves to off-field conditioning will have a higher chance to achieve greatness. Why, because many female athletes still aren't doing this sort of training to enhance their performance. Most of the male athletes are working on their speed, agility, strength and power training. In addition to this sort of training, the ladies also have a higher need for corrective exercise because of the increased risk of non-contact ACL injuries.
Because of the lessened awareness we see poor on-field cutting, deceleration, and change of direction mechanics. Many opportunities to cut to the net are lost because the athletes just haven't refined their mechanics and possibly aren't strong enough to cut quickly. Build a foundation of strength, refine all movements and convert the strength to power, all while refining the skills of the sport, then you have an athlete.
