County Library Offers Teen Award

The St. Louis County Library Foundation is seeking applicants for the fourth annual Sidney Johnson Learning Award. Those eligible are teens aged 12-18 who live in the St. Louis County Library District and have demonstrated outstanding service to the library. The application deadline is Tuesday, July 31, 2012.

The winner will receive $1,000 and an invitation to attend the Library Foundation’s Starcatchers Gala on Saturday, September 21, where he/she will be presented with the award.

The award will be given to one teen, age 12-18, who lives in the St. Louis County Library District and fulfills one or more of the following: employed at St. Louis County Library; a teen library volunteer; or Teen Advisory Group member.

The Sidney Johnson Learning award is in memory of Lewis & Clark staff member, Sidney Johnson, who was killed in 2007.

The Library Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, founded in 1999, to support the Library District by generating private resources and promoting reading and literacy.
