Dave Spence Votes in Ladue, Makes Final Pledge to Voters

Supporters cheered and hugged Dave Spence as he arrived a little past 7 a.m. to Ladue’s public library with his wife and two daughters to cast his vote.

A couple of supporters braved the cold weather outside the library handing out flyers in support of the republican candidate.

“He (Spence) is such a breath of fresh air,” said Joan Schnoebelen, a volunteer for Spence. “He will improve our jobs, he will improve our economy.”

Spence said it was surreal to see his name on the ballot. Spence made a final call for voters to elect him for Missouri’s highest office.

“I think that a lot of people who know me know I am a true leader,” Spence said. “Hopefully I’ve gained the respect over the years for what we’ve done for this community. Let’s get Missouri going.”

There were short voting lines today in Ladue, with most people voting early in the morning. A poll worker said voters were in line since 5:30 a.m.

Wylie Hoover, 19, was cheered by poll workers when he told them it was his first time voting.

He said it was a privilege he enjoyed.

“I was exciting,” Hoover said. “It’s great to live in a country where you get this privilege.”

Spence said he is not thinking about what will happen tomorrow if Gov. Nixon wins, nor did he say whether or not he would run again.

“Right now, I am not thinking about that. I am just planning on being the governor of Missouri,” Spence said.
