"Mom, Stop dancing and get me a towel." Yes, my 13 year old son actually said that to me. And what a great analogy it is to the transition all of us go through as we ease out of Summer and back into our Fall routines. There is comfort in all of it, isn't there? The big transition with my daughter is, "Okay, Mom, you can go in the passenger seat because I'm going to drive to school this morning." What? How did we get here so fast? Of course, like all Mothers we are always fine tuning our routines, trying new strategies to support our kids, walking that fine line between pushing them towards independence but being there when they need us. The lines aren't always crystal clear in the teen years, are they?
I hope you'll be joining me on my blog Moderate Moms.com for regular musings and updates on current affairs and our generation't take on life. I talk alot about national issues but plan to dial in on local ones here. Thanks for checking us out.
