
Many of my clients are grieving the loss of a pet. At times we may wonder why we are feeling such a deep sense of loss over a dog, cat, etc. For many of us, myself included, pets provide similar benefits as humans. Common benefits include: endorphin production which helps us feel less stress and depression. Receiving unconditional love from a pet produces endorphins. We love our pets and our pets love us!
It is no wonder why loosing a pet produces deep feelings of loss. While loosing our pet may feel devastating, we may not feel comfortable sharing our feelings with others. Sharing feelings of grief and loss help us to move forward.
I provide individual therapy for those having lost a beloved pet. A support group will begin in January, 2016.
