Ladue teen selected as 2014 Bank of America Student Leader
Ladue resident Faraz Ahmad is one of five St. Louis teens selected for the 2014 Bank of America Student Leaders Program

Faraz Ahmad, a Ladue resident and rising senior at John Burroughs School, is one of five St. Louis teens selected to be part of the 2014 Bank of America Student Leaders program this summer. The program, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, awards the students a paid, eight-week summer internship at a local nonprofit and a trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the Bank of America Student Leadership Summit.
Ahmad is extremely passionate about helping improve education and literacy programs throughout the St. Louis area. With his brother and close family friend, Ahmad started a charity called Biking for Books, which raises money through a charity bike ride to buy books for inner city schools. In the most recent event, he raised $15,000 and was able to buy books for five inner-city elementary schools. Additionally, in April 2013, Ahmad traveled to Doha, Qatar to participate with high school students from around the world in the THIMUN (The Hague International Model United Nations) Qatar Northwestern Film Festival. His film Battles with Food, which explores the various struggles that people have with food, was nominated for best story, best picture, best sound and best editing in the festival.
As part of the Bank of America Student Leaders program, Ahmad is interning at United Way of Greater St. Louis. The internships provide students with valuable work experience while also supporting the nonprofits with extra help this summer.
