Ladue teen selected as 2015 Bank of America Student Leader
Ladue resident Safi Ahmad is one of five St. Louis teens selected for the 2015 Bank of America Student Leaders Program

Safi Ahmad, a Ladue resident and rising senior at John Burroughs School, is one of five St. Louis teens selected to be part of the 2015 Bank of America Student Leaders program this summer. The program awards the students a paid, eight-week summer internship at a local nonprofit and a trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the Bank of America Student Leadership Summit.
Ahmad is extremely passionate about helping improve education and literacy programs throughout the St. Louis area. With his brother, a 2014 Student Leader, and close family friend, Ahmad started a charity called Biking for Books, which raises money through a charity bike ride to buy books for inner city schools. Biking for Books has held three events, the most recent of which was held in April 2015 and raised nearly $20,000, helping to buy books for 5 inner-city elementary schools. Ahmad firmly believes that all students deserve the opportunity to learn and that each and every one of us can help to address the issue.
As part of the Bank of America Student Leaders program, each student receives a paid eight-week internship. Ahmad is interning at FOCUS St. Louis. The internships provide students with valuable work experience while also supporting the nonprofits with extra help this summer.
