MICDS and John Burroughs Bring Perfect Records to Rivalry Game
John Burroughs is host to the big game this year, Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Gus Frerotte has been involved in a lot of big games during his illustrious football career.
But the former National Football League quarterback and first-year head coach at John Burroughs knows this Saturday's contest is going to be a special one as the Bombers host rival MICDS at 2:30 p.m.
"This is a new rivalry for me but one that goes back decades for our school," Frerotte said. "Emotions will be high but they can not take away from our focus of playing solid, fundamental football.

"We can expect to see a tough running game from MICDS. They have a very big O and D line. It will be a challenge for our linemen and they can expect to be in a very tough battle all game long."
John Burroughs was held to its regular season low of 21 points in last year's game against the Rams. But the Bombers shut out MICDS en route to the state championship game.

Both teams have been involved in one low scoring game and one blowout in the early stages of the 2011 season.
The Bombers survived a late rally from Pembroke Hill in a 37-30 win in week one. They followed up with a 57-0 win over Principia with a balanced offense (216 yards passing and 215 yards rushing). Ezekiel Elliott has been a threat every time he has touched the ball this season. He is averaging 11.9 yards on his 29 rushes.
MICDS followed up its thrilling 36-35 overtime win over Maplewood in week one with a 48-7 win over Lutheran South. The Rams led 48-0 at halftime as Thomas Militello completed eight of nine passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns. MICDS rushed the ball 17 times for 243 yards.
Ladue looks for its first win of the season as it opens Suburban East Conference play against McCluer South-Berkeley. It will be the first home game for the Rams with kickoff scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.
Ladue, which has lost to Parkway Central and SLUH, will have another challenge Saturday. McCluer South-Berkeley is 2-0. It scored 44 points in the second half in a 52-28 win over Carnahan and led 28-0 at halftime in a 28-8 victory over Cleveland.
Deon Miller Harris has rushed for over 100 yards in each game. McCluer South-Berkeley rushed for 356 yards in its opener against Carnahan.
