You’re only as young as you feel. As life spans continue to lengthen, it's becoming increasingly clear that our brains, as well as our bodies, are amazingly resilient and adaptive. Indeed, nonagenarians can build new muscle mass through physical exercise. Your brain can, too, although what's being developed is not new muscle but new synapses.
Here are a few things you can do to stay mentally young.
1. Learn a new language.
2. Learn how to play an instrument.
3. Volunteer.
4. Stay active.
5. Play new and challenging games.
6. Embrace technology.
7. Take lifelong learning classes.
Your brain is like a sponge. Soak up all of this new knowledge and, you never know, maybe you’ll teach your grandchild a thing or two about social media.
