St. Louis County Government: Joint Statement Of Council Chairwoman Days, Councilwoman Webb, Councilwoman Dunaway, Councilwoman Clancy

"Our message is now clear: wear your mask to fight the virus. And get vaccinated when you are eligible".

August 27, 2021

Over the last year, our County has relied on women, especially mothers, to blunt the force of a virus that threatens to overwhelm our healthcare system, shutter our schools, and choke our economy. We have asked them to balance the demands of their jobs, their children and their own parents, in conditions complicated in unprecedented ways. So, it is no surprise that the actions taken by the Council today were led by Chairwoman Rita Heard Days, Councilwoman Shalonda Webb, Councilwoman Lisa Clancy and Councilwoman Kelli Dunaway. Their commentary through the pandemic has been informed by their experiences as caregivers and multitaskers and their votes today remove any lingering confusion about the status of the County’s health order. Our message is now clear: wear your mask to fight the virus. And get vaccinated when you are eligible.
