Villa Duchesne Helps Students in Costa Rica

Villa Duchesne students volunteered at a Costa Rican elementary school during Spring Break.

Four Villa Duchesne students were in Costa Rica for Spring Break, completing a service project for an elementary school in Pavones.

Freshmen Allie Christopher, Sophie Carothers, and Kasey West with eighth grader Annelise Walker lived with local families and immersed themselves in the culture.

The students enjoyed cooking lessons, traditional dance lessons, and conversed in Spanish. They also learned about the history of the country and explored the diverse ecosystem of Costa Rica through hiking, river rafting, and waterfall rappelling.
