The Bombers did just that though Monday. They had beaten Lutheran North 53-16 earlier in the season and took control from the start in the rematch.

Elliott was phenomenal in the early going as he scored four touchdowns in the first 14:19 of the game. He had 193 yards of total offense in the first half.

"We came out fast tonight," Elliott said. "We really ended it in the first quarter. The line did a good job and Davey (Holmes) is just getting better and better. He is really growing as a quarterback with Gus helping him."

Elliott caught touchdown passes from Holmes of 43, 25 and 53 yards in the first half and also added a 14-yard touchdown run. John Burroughs led 28-0 with 9:41 to play in the first half.

The Bomber defense had a couple of big stands late in the half after Burroughs' fumbles deep in its territory although Lutheran North was able to score on the final play of the half on a 9-yard pass from Glenn Bradford to Trey Johnson.

Holmes threw his fourth touchdown pass of the game, this one of four yards to Peter Schnuck, on the first Bomber possession of the second half. Elliott added a 28-yard run as John Burroughs led 42-6 in the third quarter.

"I'm really pleased with the way we played tonight," Frerotte said. "Davey made some big plays and so did Zeke. But it is not just those two guys. We have other playmakers and are dangerous whether we run it or pass it."

Holmes finished the game completing 13 of 20 passes for 260 yards and four touchdowns. He also just missed on a couple of other throws deep down the field.

Elliott finished with 245 yards of total offense with his five touchdowns. He rushed for 124 yards on 16 carries and caught three passes for another 121 yards.
