• How a historic bowling alley along Route 66 in Maplewood became a global attraction (firstalert4.com) — Saratoga Lanes in Maplewood, just off Route 66, is drawing visitors from around the world as the historic highway nears its 100th birthday. Built in 1916 and billed as the oldest bowling alley west of the Mississippi, the second-floor spot keeps things old-school with paper scoring and a carefully preserved retro feel that locals can still enjoy anytime.
