Dewey's Pizza: A Local Family Favorite
Dewey's Pizza has become a local favorite for our family. We love the pizza and the atmosphere. If you haven't been, try it!
A few weeks ago, ran an article about local pizza places. The focus was on Brentwood and Maplewood pizza shops, but there is one place in our household that has definitely become "local" and a true favorite: Dewey's Pizza.
Yes, Dewey's has changed the face of pizza at our household or, as Dewey's says, brought pizza to the next level. With the opening of Dewey's, we now really "go out" for pizza. No delivery in. It used to be that when pizza was our crave, we would order up some Papa John's or another local favorite, Imo's, and have it delivered. Now, this is rarely the case. Although Mark enjoys the pizza too (and the craft beers), Mark contends that our kids have become pizza snobs. Perhaps they have. But I can't argue with the kids that Dewey's pizza is probably one of the best around town, and it keeps my kitchen clean.
Besides the pizza (and salad, which is also delicious) there's a lot of atmosphere at Dewey's that makes it a great place to go. First, it is inevitable that regardless of the location that we go to (there are four locations in St. Louis that I know of and we have visited Kirkwood, Webster Groves and U-City), we run into friends. In that way, it really has become "local." My kids always ask, "So who do you think we will run into tonight?" It's always fun to see people you know!

Also, unlike some restaurants where kids garner stares, Dewey's usually has a diverse group of folks from families with infants and kids to a large group of adults. This is probably true because of the delicious pizza that can be as plain as cheese or as bizarre as mustard, hotdog, and ketchup. Dewey's also features a kitchen window so that all customers can see the pizza in the making. Certainly entertaining for the younger set! The service is also amazing. The servers (some of whom surely recognize us coming) are friendly and are prompt with the beer and drink refills.
So, if you want to "go out" for pizza and enjoy a local treat, check out your local Dewey's. Be sure to say hi if you see me there!

Just for full disclosure, I was not paid or offered a free pizza for this post, but I'd gladly accept one! :)
