Space Heater Causes Fire At Home On Glades Avenue
Fire Leaves Man Homeless On Glades Ave.
Flames swept through a one-story house on Glades Ave., Friday destroying the back bedroom before spreading to the attic.
Firefighters from St. Louis City, Maplewood and Richmond Heights responded at around noon.
The homeowner arrived from work as firefighters battled the blaze. The owner said the house has no gas service and electricity is the only means of heat.

He believes the fire started in the back bedroom near the space heater, although that had not been confirmed at the time.
No one else was home and there were no injuries reported.
