We enrolled H9 in a summer reading course located at Saint Louis University. So, for the next six Sundays or so for a couple of hours, the gang is going to be spending some time at our alma mater. Sundays at SLU.
J9 didn't take it extremely well when we told him what we had in mind for Sundays at SLU. He didn't exactly come prepared today. We explained to J9 and C6 that since H9 would be at SLU doing reading enrichment, we were going to take this opportunity to also be at SLU to do some enrichment. It would be 2 hours of no electronics for mom, dad or them (with my camera being the exception). We explained that Sundays at SLU was going to be a time for the four of us to read a good book ourselves, do some of our "Summer (home) Work Packets," including Kumon, stroll through campus and have some quiet time.
We did a bit of all of that today and then some. I took C6 into Shannon Hall to see some of the "auditorium" classrooms. She proceeded to teach a class on "how to have friendship in college." The seats, but for one, were all empty, but not in her imagination. I apparently, answered many of the questions correctly. On one answer that I gave she said, "I already said something like that, can you come up with another answer?" She's good. J9 did some reading, some strolling and ended up in the dolphin pond. It was all good.

You don't have to be an alum to appreciate what SLU is and has become. It is clear that Reverand Biondi, the President of SLU, has truly put a vision to work and continues great things for SLU and the surrounding neighborhoods. This afternoon, it was hard to believe, we we were in the city with the serene calm around us. We stayed on the "Ritter" side of campus today, and it was truly beautiful with the green space, tall, lush greenery and the calming waters of the pond and waterfall. The quad behind Busch Student Center is absolutely perfect for having a picnic and "hanging out."
Needless to say, being on campus for this length of time for no particular reason other than to just be, gave us a chance to take it all in and really brought back many great memories for Mark and me.
