Brentwood teen selected as 2015 Bank of America Student Leader

Brentwood resident Julius Bestman is one of five St. Louis teens selected for the 2015 Bank of America Student Leaders Program

Julius Bestman, a Brentwood resident and rising senior at Brentwood High School, is one of five St. Louis teens selected to be part of the 2015 Bank of America Student Leaders program this summer. The program awards the students a paid, eight-week summer internship at a local nonprofit and a trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the Bank of America Student Leadership Summit.

As a lover of science, Bestman recently took part in the St. Louis Science Center Internship and Leadership program, an opportunity for high school students to gain transferable skills in a fun and educational environment. Through this experience, Bestman learned the importance of working as a team to accomplish goals, helping to build a family-like cohesiveness for program participants through the provision of numerous games and activities. He hopes to use these skills in his future to become a respected leader.

As part of the Bank of America Student Leaders program, each student receives a paid eight-week internship. Bestman is interning at United Way of Greater St. Louis. The internships provide students with valuable work experience while also supporting the nonprofits with extra help this summer.
