Brentwood's Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition One of Three Charities to Win 2013 BBB TORCH Award

The Foster & Adoptive Care Coaltion was one of nine businesses and three charities that were be presented with BBB TORCH Awards for exceptional ethical business practices and customer service from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Serving Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois on October 24th.

Already a BBB Accredited Charity, the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition is widely recognized for its “A Place To Call Home” segments on KSDK NewsChannel 5 as well as for it’s groundbreaking adoption programs recognized nationally in TIME Magazine and the New York Times. The Coalition finds “forever families” for children in foster care and provides support and adoption-preservation services like crisis intervention, educational advocacy, and more. The Coalition takes on the region’s most difficult cases – foster children who are a sibling group, older youth, or children with emotional, developmental or behavioral concerns.

“Being a transparent and accountable agency is something we take very seriously,” said Melanie Scheetz, Executive Director.

The BBB will presented the TORCH Award to Coalition Board President, Jane Deuker, at a luncheon on October 24th, at the Chase Park Plaza. Stephen M. R. Covey, author of business bestseller The Speed of Trust, was the keynote speaker, and KSDK's Art Holliday emceed the event.
