Drury, MoDOT Agree on Price in Brentwood
If approved by a state commission, construction may begin on a new Drury hotel at the corner of Brentwood Boulevard and Eager Road.

Negotiations between the Drury Development Corporation and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) appear to finally be over, likely triggering a new Drury hotel in Brentwood.
MoDOT currently owns land at the corner of Brentwood Boulevard and Eager Road. The department used the area to store materials while improving Interstate 64 a few years ago. Drury sought the land to build a new hotel, but, after two years of discussions, this year.
MoDOT and Drury reached an agreement on the selling price, but nothing is final yet.

"The Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission has to approve any agreements before we can talk about them," MoDOT spokesman Andrew Gates said. "Nothing is final until the commission votes."
That should happen during a September commission meeting, Gates said. He declined to discuss pricing until after the commission meets, but Gates the rough price estimate for the 3.3 acres of land was $6 million.

Plans for the hotel include 230 rooms equipped with microwaves and refrigerators, an exercise room, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools, said Alison Casler, director of Training and Communication for Drury.
Casler said the site is ideal for Drury's operations.
"Brentwood has so much to offer visitors, from great shopping and dining to a strong corporate business base," Casler said. Easy access to the interstate also makes the location attractive, she said.
