Children’s Summer Reading Club: (Ages 3 through those who’ve completed grade 5.)
Earn prizes for reading your favorite books! You can also read to dogs through the PAWS for Reading program, do crafts for Father’s Day, make Hair-Raising Hats for yourself, and play board games. Other events will include a puppet show, local author Amy Sklansky, and guests from the Magic House. Read 15 hours and put your name into a drawing for a free set of LEGOs.
Young Adult Summer Reading Club: (YA’s who’ve completed grade 6 through those entering 12th)
Win lots of great prizes as you complete the reading challenge of 1,000 pages, including a chance to win an iPod Shuffle, Cardinals baseball tickets, and gift certificates to area shops and cafes. You can look forward to beating the heat by making interstellar jewelry, posing in a zombie fashion photo shoot, and kicking back with Saturday afternoon movies. Keep track of your progress (and your friend’s too) at the library or through the library's website.
Adult Summer Reading Club (18 years and up)
All adults are welcome to join regardless of residence. Read 5 books during this 8 week period and register to win an Amazon Kindle e-reader (one entry per person). Each participant will receive a small gift upon sign-up and a prize when you’ve completed 5 books. Join us at Houlihan’s on August 3rd for a reading happy hour. Meet other club readers and talk about the good books you read. There will be door prizes, and the drawing for the Kindle will take place. Sign up online at www.brentwood.lib.mo.us or in person at the library.
