Slow Food St. Louis and the Schlafly Bottleworks present SLOWednesday after the Schlafly Farmers Market. Each month a different farmer from the market will speak about their farm, giving you the opportunity to get to know your food.
On Wednesday, September 12, SLOWednesday will feature Buila Family Farm from Cobden, IL. The Buila family grows nearly 250 different varieties of fruits and vegetables with no chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. They use a synthesis of traditional, bio-intensive, bio-dynamic and chaos as growing techniques. Their mission is to teach their children how to work, give them good food to eat, and to share healthy food with the community. And they try their best to do this in a sustainable manner. The Buila family welcomes you to come hear about what they do, how they do it and why.
